Grinders have been designed to accommodate the varying operating
and environmental conditions encountered throughout the
world.
- Engineering
& Manufacturing staff currently on hand has been involved
with our Rail Grinding programme for over 15 years.
- Our
Rail Grinding continuous improvement technology reflects
expertise gained from the operations of our own Rail Grinding
fleet.
- Annually
we grind approximately 10,000 pass miles with our Production/Mainline
grinders and 12,000 switches and crossings with our S&C
Grinders.
The
C-model is the latest in the line of Harsco Rail's
rail grinders designed to grind the top and sides of the running
rails on both main line, crossings and switches. These grinders
can reduce the cost and frequency of your track maintenance
operations by performing preventive grinding of new rails
to clear defects such as millscale, long waves, and weld profiles;
eliminating track vibrations by removing corrugations or other
defects on the running surface; or removing fatigued metal
and reprofiling the rail for proper wheel to rail contact.
The C-model is modular and available in various combinations
of eight and ten stones, including 8, 10, 16, 20, 24, 30 and
32 stone units. The machines are also available at any gauge
between 1067mm (42 inch) and 1676mm (66 inch), as well as
a variable gauge model. The C-model machines are self-contained
units, which can be connected together to form a larger consist.
In any configuration, the entire machine can be controlled
by a single operator. The machines are available with two
axles per car or with two bogies per car depending on individual
customer needs for axle loads and curve negotiation.
